Fusion Dance Presentation and Performance with Director Anna Mayta

Join Anna Mayta (a dance artist, improviser, choreographer, and educator) as she takes us on a journey through the cultures of Spain, India, West Africa, The Caribbean, Chile, and the USA. Come learn about Flamenco, Bharatanatyam, West African Dance, Modern, Latin, Caribbean and Cueca. We will also be treated to a solo Fusion Dance Performance. Director Mayta has been teaching, performing, and choreographing for over fifteen years. Anna grew up in Chile and graduated from Empire State College with a BA in Dance in Education (June 2001). She has choreographed, taught dance for The National Ballet of Zimbabwe in Africa, in England, in India and in the Boston Area. Anna has performed her solo works at Dixon Place, and other places in NYC, and around the Hudson Valley area. Anna is currently teaching, choreographing, performing, and directing Mayta Fusion Dance Company in Hudson Valley, NY. Sponsored by a generous grant from The Cummings Foundation.
