NOTICE OF ELECTION
To the Active and Retired MEMBERS of the WINCHESTER RETIREMENT SYSTEM
Purpose of Election: To elect the First Member of the Winchester Retirement Board
Date of Election: Monday, July 26, 2021 no later than 12 Noon
Election to be held entirely by Mail. The Winchester Retirement Office must receive your ballot by US Postal Service. Ballots received after 12 Noon on Monday, July 26, 2021 will not be counted. Ballots delivered by hand will not be counted.
Term of Office: Three (3) years, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024
Candidates: To qualify as a candidate you must be an active member or a retiree of the Winchester Retirement System. Anyone receiving a survivor benefit or a non-contributory pension does not qualify as a candidate, and cannot vote for a candidate
Nomination Papers: The nomination paper must contain the signatures and addresses of at least 20 active or retiree members of the Winchester Retirement System. Anyone receiving a survivor benefit or a non-contributory pension cannot nominate a candidate.
Obtain Papers: You may pick up nomination papers in person at the Winchester Retirement Office located on the Third Floor of the Winchester Town Hall at 71 Mt. Vernon Street, Winchester, Massachusetts, or you may call the retirement office at (781) 721-7127 to request one be mailed to you.
Due Date of Papers: The last day to submit nomination papers is Thursday, June 10, 2021 no later than 12 noon.
