The Winchester Board of Health voted to lift the Town-wide mask mandate on December 14, 2021.

Given the continued rise of COVID-19 cases in the Commonwealth and Middlesex County, and the unknowns regarding the Omicron variant, masks will continue to be required for staff and visitors regardless of vaccination status inside Town Hall, DPW, Recreation Building, Winchester Public Library, and in the lobby and common areas of the Public Safety Building. Please contact the Jenks Center and School Department for guidelines in their respective facilities. Children under two (2) years of age are exempt from this requirement.

This policy will be re-evaluated on January 15th, at which time a decision will be made to either extend or rescind the mandate based on the trajectory and severity of COVID cases in our community and in Middlesex County. The safety and wellbeing of our staff and the general public is my top priority and I appreciate everyone’s continued patience and understanding as we implement these requirements.
