On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the Town will switch over from supplying water from the Treatment Plant to supplying water from the MWRA to the Town’s East-High water system.
The East-High system consists of all streets east of Washington Street; Grove Street and Main Street, including the west side of Main Street from Symmes Corner up to the Medford line.
Each year from May through October, the Town switches from water supplied by the Treatment Plant to water supplied by the MWRA. This is normal operating procedure due to the high demand of the summer months.
During the initial transition from the Treatment Plant water back to the MWRA’s water supply, there may be some changes in water appearance including discoloration. If you experience discolored water, let the cold water run from the lowest point in the house until it clears.
