Town Clerk’s Office

In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Election Cycle, the Town Clerk’s Office is seeking election workers to join our team at Town Hall. The Voters Act of 2022 amended a significant amount of the legislation and work relating to administering local, state, and federal elections. 

The Town Clerk’s Office is seeking residents of Winchester who are registered voters with excellent communication, customer service and computer skills. There are many new technologies we are utilizing to administer elections and we are seeking serious applicants only to assist us in continuing to administer fair, accurate and transparent elections to the voters of Winchester. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Listed below are the many ways in which you can assist the Town Clerk’s Office.

  • ELECTION DAY WORKERS                                           WHS Polling Location
  • EARLY VOTING IN PERSON                                          Town Hall, 2 wks. prior
  • CENTRAL BALLOT TABULATION WORKERS   Town Hall, Election Day 
  • CLERICAL OFFICE WORKERS                                     Town Clerk’s Office, weeks prior to election day to assist with the Vote by Mail workload.

To review the positions and duties please check out the Become an Election Worker page found here Become an Election Worker | Winchester, MA - Official Website          These positions are paid on a nominal scale of approximately $172.00 - $263.00 for election day work.  Hourly wages of approximately $12 - $18 per hour for less than full election day commitments. 

We will be conducting Election Worker training sessions, which will be for approximately 2-3 hours at the Town Hall.  Attendance is mandatory to qualify and to remain an Election Worker. Note:   Election Dates are as follows:   Presidential Primary Tuesday, March 5, 2024; Annual Town Election Tuesday, March 26, 2024; State Primary to be determined, and General State Election (aka Presidential Election) Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
