FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AUGUST 3, 2018

State Primary Election Information

Voting By Absentee Ballot

Absentee ballots for the State Primary will be available Monday, August 6, 2018 for voters who expect to be out of Town on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2018 or who are not able to get to the polls because of illness or physical disability. Voters may apply to have a ballot mailed to them, have a family member apply on their behalf or they may vote in person at:

The Office of the Town Clerk

Winchester Town Hall

71 Mount Vernon St

Winchester, MA 01890

Reminder to parents:

College students who are registered voters at their home address in Winchester are eligible to request an absentee ballot or have a family member request on their behalf. Forms are available on line at www.winchester.us. Type absentee ballot application in the search box

The deadline to request a ballot is not later than 5PM, FRIDAY, AUGUST 31, 2018 the last business day before the State Primary. However, for those voters who need their ballots mailed to them please leave ample time for mailing the ballot to and from the Town Clerk’s Office. NOTE: College Students will be best served to come in person to the Town Clerk’s Office to vote this prior to leaving for college due to the primary being held on the same date students are returning to campus.

The campus mail will most likely NOT be able to deliver the absentee ballots prior to the start of classes and therefore students would miss out on returning to Winchester by 8pm on September 4th. You may vote in person all hours the town hall is open, Monday 8am-7pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8am – 4pm and Friday’s 8am – 12Noon; with the exception Friday August 31, 2018 we will be opened until 5pm.

For those voters traveling abroad or temporarily living abroad (Military Voters included) you may vote by electronic ballot by submitting a Federal Post Card Application to the Office of the Town Clerk. To obtain a FPCA application please log onto http://www.fvap.gov/ and submit via email or mail to the Town Clerk. Please email to townclerk@winchester.us
