First Clinic is Senior Flu Shots for those 65 and Older

The Winchester Board of Health, in cooperation with the Jenks Center, will be sponsoring flu clinics this fall. This year four clinics will be held in the Cummings Room at the Jenks Center. The first clinic will be a Senior Flu Shot Clinic for people 65 years and older, held Wednesday, October 17 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. 550 doses of Senior Flu vaccine have been ordered by the Health Department. Doses remaining after this first clinic will be offered at the subsequent clinics.


The three seasonal flu clinics, for those ages 6 months and older, will be held on Tuesday, October 23 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM, Thursday, October 25 from 3PM - 5 PM and Wednesday, November 14 from 6 PM to 8 PM.


Please bring ALL of your insurance cards with you.


The following health insurances are ACCEPTED: Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Celticare, Cigna, Fallon, Harvard Pilgrim, Health New England, MassHealth, Medicare Part B, Neighborhood Health, Network Health, Tufts Health Plan, Unicare, and United Health Plan.


* Insurances NOT ACCEPTED (if it is your primary insurance): Aetna and Humana


Fee for vaccines not covered by insurance: $15 for seasonal flu shot/FluMist and $45 for the Senior Flu Shot.


Prevnar 13 and Pneumovax 23 pneumonia shots are available, by appointment, in the Board of Health for those age 65 and older who have not yet received them. The two shots must be separated by one year and all adults in that age group should receive both to have full protection.
