The Winchester Health Department in cooperation with the Jenks Center, will be holding flu clinics this fall. The flu vaccine is an important step to reduce flu-related illness and the overall impact of respiratory illness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, three clinics will be held at the Jenks Senior Center. The first clinic will be a High Dose Flu Shot Clinic for people 65 years and older, on Wednesday, October 7th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 550 doses of High Dose Flu vaccine have been ordered by the Health Department. Any remaining doses will be offered at the subsequent community clinics.
In order to attend the Senior Flu Clinic, you must have an appointment and face coverings/masks must be worn. Please go to: www.jenkscenter.org to register or call the Jenks Center at 781-721-7136.
IMPORTANT: Please bring to the clinic a photo ID or Driver’s License and ALL of your health insurance cards! If your insurance does not pay for the flu shot/FluMist in a public clinic setting, there will be a cost of $15.00 for the seasonal flu vaccines and $45.00 for the High Dose Flu Shot. We will only accept payment by check.
The two community flu clinics are for the General Public, age 6 months and older and will be held on:
- Wednesday, October 21 from 3 PM to 7 PM (Registration opens October 7th)
- Thursday, November 5 from 3 PM to 7 PM. (Registration opens October 22)
Both flu shots and FluMist nasal spray will be available at the community clinics. FluMist is for people ages 2 through 49 who are healthy, not pregnant and with no chronic medical conditions. Appointments are necessary! Registration links will be posted two weeks prior to the clinic. Each member of your family will need their own separate appointment. Please do not book one appointment for your entire family.
If there are any questions regarding the Senior High Dose Clinic, please call 781-721-7136. Limit the spread; mask up!
