Who needs a one day special alcohol license?

You cannot serve alcohol at any place that is not a private dwelling without a license according to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABCC).  Any establishment in town, that does not already have a yearly pouring license, must apply for a one day special alcohol license from the Town.  License applications must be received at least three weeks prior to the event to ensure you will be able to obtain a license.  Each application must be voted by the Select Board and submitted to the ABCC.  The Town also strongly suggests that food be served anytime there is alcohol service.

If the event is on Town property, Town Hall, Griffin Museum, Sanborn House and Wright-Locke Farm, then insurance is required as well.

You can find FAQs from the ABCC by clicking here.

Wright-Locke Farm Survey

The Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy in Winchester builds broad community and seeks to model sustainable practices through active learning, organic agriculture, land stewardship, and an appreciation of their historic New England farm. They offer certified-organic produce and other local farm products, educational programs for children and adults, hiking trails that lead to conservation land, special events for the community, and private celebrations.

Wright-Locke Farm has developed a survey to improve their Farm-to-Go Online Farm Stand to better serve their surrounding community. Wright-Locke appreciates any and all feedback, including from individuals with little or no knowledge of the farm.
