Winchester Unitarian Society’s Jazz in the Sanctuary presents “Songs of Hope and Resilience,” a live online concert, Friday, January 28th at 8:00 PM. The program features new jazz compositions written for this moment, to bring calm and reassurance, inspire hope and wonder, and renew the spirit. This music, by pianist, arranger, and composer John Kramer, draws from the great wealth of jazz history and style as it charts a course toward the future. Music will be performed by Kramer on piano, Rick McLaughlin on bass, and Yoron Israel on drums.
“Door donations” from the concert will be shared 50/50 with Winchester A Better Chance (ABC). ABC is a national nonprofit program that identifies, recruits, and refers qualified, highly motivated students of color to community ABC programs across the country. Winchester ABC provides a dedicated and supervised home for eight to ten ABC students, where they live while attending Winchester High School and prepare for college.
