Winchester Unitarian Society
The Winchester Unitarian Society, 478 Main Street, Winchester, MA, kicks off its 2023–2024 concert series on Friday, October 27th, at 8:00 p.m., with “New Works by John Kramer.” John Kramer is Music Director at Winchester Unitarian Society and has written numerous works for orchestra and choir.
The concert features three multi-movement pieces by John Kramer, including “Violin Sonata,” performed by Julia Cash; “Cello Sonata,” performed by Sam Ou; and “Piano Trio,” performed by Cash, Ou, and Kramer. Other original Kramer compositions are included in the program.
The two sonatas and the piano trio follow forms traditionally associated with classical music. But within those forms, Kramer taps into a range of musical elements and expressions, from classical to jazz, to explore the broad array of human experience and emotion.
