The Community Calendar is to publicize events located in Winchester where the pubic is invited to attend. For profit businesses are allowed to post on this calendar up to 3 days per month. All submissions are subject to approval.

No holidays, events outside of Winchester or personal events are to be posted.

  1. Arnold Newman Prize for New Directions in Photographic Portraiture 2023

    Griffin Museum of Photography

    The Griffin Museum is thrilled to partner with Maine Media Workshops to present the 2023 Arnold Newman Prize winner Craig Easton, and finalists Dylan Hausthor, Takako Kido and Nziyah Oyo Diallo. The Arnold Newman Prize for New Directions in Photographic Portraiture is a $20,000 prize awarded annually to a photographer whose work demonstrates a compelling new vision in photographic portraiture. The Prize is generously funded by the Arnold & Augusta Newman Foundation and proudly administered by Maine Media Workshops + College.

  2. NAMI Family to Family Course

    Family-to-Family Course September 9th to November 4th, 2023 Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the First Congressional Church Winchester 21 Church Street, Winchester MA The course provides family caretakers with education about mental health conditions, skills workshops, and information about available resources. The NAMI Family-to-Family curriculum includes: Information about mental health conditions and treatments Coping skills, handling crisis and relapse, local and national resources Listening and communication techniques Problem solving, limit setting, self-care Most importantly, the course offers family members the invaluable opportunity of open conversation and mutual support in a stigma-free environment. Course participants, now more than 400,000 people nationwide, find that the Family-to-Family experience empowers them to understand and pursue paths toward healthy recovery for their loved ones, their families, and themselves.

  4. Monster Comics Workshop for Halloween

    Come create comics with award-winning cartoonist & graphic novelist Marek Bennett. At this FREE workshop, using just blank paper, pencils, and ink, you will learn to create dynamic characters & bring them to life in comics panels, strips, & pages. No experience needed; EVERYBODY can make comics! This workshop is for all ages, but those under the age of 8 or 9 (3rd grade-ish) may benefit from having an adult with them.   7. Boston Saxophone Quartet Concert

    Join WCMS for a special guest concert! The Boston Saxophone Quartet is a unique blend of musicians combining a tremendous range of repertoire and individual experience in wind performance. Members of the BSQ have performed with the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra and leading Broadway theaters throughout New England. The BSQ offers a wide repertoire including Swing, Ragtime, Jazz, The Beatles … all the way back to the Renaissance. This event is generously sponsored by the Musicians Performance Trust Fund, dedicated to enriching lives through music and free live performances.
