"What keeps my heart awake is colorful silence." - Claude Monet
9:30am Wednesday mornings in Ripley Chapel of First Congregational Church,(in the back of the white church at the Town Common). Non-sectarian, non-political, non-verbal, just plain being in silence together for 20 minutes. Call it meditation, centering prayer, mindfulness, relaxation. Keep your heart awake. All are welcome.
Parents/caregivers and educators, please join us for a community discussion with Peter Gray, Ph.D on March 1st. We will continue the conversation on March 15th with a screening of the award-winning documentary Chasing Childhood.?The world of childhood has changed and children spend less time engaged in genuine free play.
What role does play have in meeting children's basic needs for autonomy, competence and connection? How does play impact social-emotional skill-building, mental health, learning and overall health?
Let's discuss these questions together as a community.
